The rule, explained
Article 329 of the Code of Obligations entitles employees to the usual free hours and days. SECO lists moving house among the personal matters it covers. How many days? The law does not say; contracts and collective agreements usually grant one. For employees on a monthly salary, SECO notes, it is customary for this time to be paid. So ask your employer early, check your contract, and plan the boxes. Ueli carries one at a time.
